Bee Buzz–Artwork by Scout K. Austin

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Fountain Street Fine Art in Framingham will host an exhibit by artist Scout K. Austin, from September 5 to October 6, 2013. A
Reception will be held Saturday, September 7, from 5 - 7 pm.
FREE and open to the public

Artist Scout K. Austin will have a solo show of her recent work, entitled “Bee Buzz”, at Fountain Street Fine Art, in September of 2013. Austin’s work focuses the viewer’s attention on the essential honeybee by highlighting both the beauty of the honeybee’s life and the serious threats to the honeybee’s existence. By combining lush, bright color with contradictory, menacing darkness, Austin’s work encourages the viewer to take a deeper look at an important species in crisis.

Austin is a re-emerging artist who has taken the long way around. Beginning with a
BFA degree from Syracuse University and an MFA from the University of Florida, she went on to explore commercial photography, advertising and graphic design and commercial printing. Austin then received a law degree from the University of California at Berkeley and practiced law for five years before returning to her true love – creating art. She now resides in Massachusetts and quite happily produces art.
